BBC LAUNCHES THIRD PHASE OF THEIR DRAMA DIRECTORS SCHEME | RIVER CITY

Published22nd March 2018

BBC launches the third phase of their ‘Drama Directors Scheme’ with the Scottish soap opera ‘River City’.

Do you want the chance to be behind one of the UK’s biggest drama series?

Well now, you can.

Pitches and CVs are being sought nationwide to find the next best director[s] to serve on multiple Continuing Drama Series.

BBC has announced that ‘River City’ will be the next show that will provide 2 trainee directors with the opportunity to be mentored within the next year.

BBC has stated that “as part of [director] training, successful candidates will receive a full credit on one episode of the drama. If the director has shown that they can meet the standards required, the show aims to hire them within nine months for a full directorial commission. It is our ambition that this will be the first step of an ongoing partnership with each of these directors; and, as their careers develop, so will their relationship with the BBC and the wider television drama community.

The opportunity is already underway with a deadline of 09th April 2018 at 10 am.
